Voice coil carrier

The voice coil carrier links the coil to the diaphragm, keeps the coil vertical in the air gap and dissipates heat produced by mechanical losses. The material used for the voice coil carrier can be paper, plastic or aluminium. Aluminium dissipates heat best, but has a greater mass. A very light, heat resistant, high quality material is Kapton.
